Spray foam Insulation Contractor has become popular in homes and commercial buildings due to its ability to significantly reduce energy costs year-round. This is accomplished by creating a custom air-seal that blocks hot and cold air movement through walls, ceilings, roof and foundation. The foam insulation also seals around ducts and gaps where heat often escapes.
In addition, spray foam insulation creates a more energy-efficient thermal envelope. Studies show that the air infiltration that occurs in typical wood frame wall construction is responsible for 40% of a building’s energy loss. The spray foam insulation can be applied to the interior walls, between studs and joists in new construction, or to retrofit existing wall construction by drilling small holes in the joists of a wood-framed structure.
316 Insulation: Experts in Eco-Friendly Spray Foam Solutions
The open and closed-cell spray foams used by 316 Insulation contain a blowing agent that contains no CFCs, HCFCs, or HFOs (Hydrofluoroolefins) which significantly reduces the product’s global warming potential. This is known as a green building material.
The specialized equipment used by our certified applicators includes a spray gun that mixes the liquid ingredients and then expands to fill in cracks and crevices. During the spraying process, our technicians are required to wear full face and respiratory protection. When properly applied and allowed to cure, the spray foam is non-toxic. It does release a gas during the curing process that requires proper ventilation. If the spray foam is misapplied, extensive shrinkage can occur and pull away from structural framing. This may result in water condensation problems during cooler climates or vapor leakage issues in warmer climates.
